Thursday the 25th, Thanksgiving Day in America, was a great day for witnessing in Samobor Croatia. Samobor is a town near to the capitol city of Zagreb with a population listed at 36,000.
I had the privilege to stand between the high school and the bus station and greet many young people, offering gospel tracts to all. The people were very friendly and most of them gladly accepted a gospel tract.
After the school rush was over, I walked through town to greet as many as possible.
As I was walking through the town, I noticed on the hill just down the main road an old castle ruin. I had to make the climb and check it out. Although it is in ruins, it is still an amazing sight. On that day I had the hill and the castle all to myself. As I quietly stood there surveying the sight, I thought about how this castle represented one of man's best efforts to build a lasting kingdom, but as with all of man's work every kingdom of man will fall, but the kingdom of our Lord shall stand forever.
Luke 1:31-33 says, And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Philippians 2:9-11 says, Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Amen.
