Robin Gibb - Heaven or Hell?

Anytime a famous person's death is published in the news, the first thought I have is, Did their eternal soul go to heaven or hell? Admittedly, I only know that I am saved and going to heaven and I cannot possibly know about anyone else.

However, I do know from the Bible that worldly fame can't take anyone to heaven.
The only one who can save is Jesus Christ. By faith in Him you can be saved, guaranteeing you a place in heaven for all eternity, regardless of your popularity, talent, or wealth.

Did Robin Gibb ever place his faith for salvation in Jesus Christ and Him alone? Only he and God know that. The only thing that matters to him now is his relationship with Jesus Christ.
This is what the Bible says about how to be saved:
  • John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
  • Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
  • Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
  • Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
  • Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
  • Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved ...
  • Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
  • John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Being world-famous as founding member of the Bee Gees doesn't save anyone from Hell. Having a fortune in worldly wealth doesn't purchase a place in heaven. God is not impressed with worldly fame, or great riches or professional talent.

God sent His only begotten Son Jesus to die on the cross to pay for Robin Gibb's sins. God offered him the free gift of eternal life, if only he would believe on Jesus Christ and call out to Him for salvation. God gave Robin Gibb 62 years to accept the free gift of eternal life.

Did he ever receive Jesus as his personal Saviour? If not, it is eternally too late for him.
But it is not yet too late for you.

Joy Joy Joy!

Joy Joy Joy! Out soulwinning this morning, I was prepared with Hungarian tracts because sometimes a busload of Hungarian tourists drop by to see our beautiful castle in Varaždin.

Sure enough, a big tour group came walking up, so I reached in my bag for the tracts and asked where they were from.  When they said "Magyar" (Hungary) I knew I was in business.

Everyone of them was thrilled to receive something written in their own (very unique) language.

Praise the Lord that everyone of them has a fighting chance to know the truth about the free gift of salvation available to all who believe!

(By the way, I found out the hard way one day that passing tracts on the streets of Budapest, Hungary is illegal. But you can still come to Croatia and get one!)

Amen.

Do Something

A devil's lie is to make saved people think they are not qualified to speak to someone about getting saved. Friend, if you are saved, you are qualified. Look at it this way, a lost person is already on their way to eternal hell. How could their situation possibly get any worse? 1. Just tell somebody, "I got saved, so now I know I am going to heaven." God will help you speak to someone. A personal testimony is a powerful tool. Step out in faith and speak up for Christ. 2. Learn verses of the Bible needed to lead somone to Christ. The "Roman Road" is easy to learn. Mark them in your New Testament and carry it with you. Romans 3:10,23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9-10,13 God's word has power. God's words will work in the heart of a lost person. 3. Give out tracts with a smile on your face wherever you go. Tell people you would love to see them in church on Sunday. Ask them to read the tract when they get home, and to think about what God is saying to them. 4. Mail a letter to a far-away relative who may be lost. Tell them you got saved and want them to get saved too. Include a gospel tract that tells thems how they can know for sure they are going to heaven. Please, just do something. Life is passing by and time is short. Don't stand quietly by the roadside as people drive toward a bridge that is out.
